How much does an app cost in Nepal?

Four things drive the figure more than the screen count does: how many distinct user roles there are, whether the app has to work without a connection, whether anything happens in real time, and whether money changes hands inside it. Each of those adds a whole class of states to build and test — an offline app needs a sync and conflict story, and payments need server-side verification rather than a button.

The part that gets left out of budgets is everything after the code is written. Store submission, testing across a spread of real devices rather than one simulator, and the first weeks of fixes once actual users arrive are all work. It is worth deciding upfront who owns the developer accounts and who ships the next update, because an app nobody can update is a depreciating asset.
