How to get clients as a freelancer in Nepal?

A practical answer on freelance clients, written from projects I have actually shipped rather than from a spec sheet.

Answer

Build a strong portfolio, contribute to open source, leverage LinkedIn, and utilize platforms like Upwork or Toptal.

In More Detail

The channels differ mainly in lead time. Marketplaces produce enquiries quickly and compete on price. Inbound from your own site and search takes months to build and arrives already convinced, because the person has read your work before they wrote to you. Referrals convert best and cannot be switched on. The practical implication is that the slow channels have to be worked on while the fast ones are paying the bills.

The recurring trap is the pipeline gap. Delivery fills the calendar, outreach stops, and the month a project ends there is nothing behind it — a cycle that is much easier to prevent than to recover from. Alongside that: a written scope and a deposit before starting. Both of those are what separate a freelance business from a sequence of favours that occasionally get paid.

What This Means For Your Project

A small number of genuinely well-documented case studies (with real metrics, not just screenshots) tends to convert better than a large number of shallow portfolio entries.

If this came up while you were scoping a project: the services page lists what I build, pricing publishes real starting figures, how I work covers cadence and timezone overlap, and the case studies show the stack and timeline on eight real projects. Unfamiliar term? Try the glossary.
